Since joining PrincetonOne in 2016 with ten years of recruiting industry experience, Lauren earned the Rookie of the Year award in 2016 and achieved President’s Club status in 2017. Where are you originally from?
I was born in Dallas but have lived in Austin for many years.

Who is your favorite client and why?
It’s tough to pick just one, but the clients I enjoy working with the most are those with whom I can develop a collaborative relationship. I appreciate clients who trust my intuition about which candidates are the best fit for their team and their company—both technically and culturally.

What’s your most rewarding placement and why?
My most rewarding placement took me more than a year to fill. I presented upwards of 20 candidates to a client with specific requirements for a very challenging role. I even partnered with other recruiters at PrincetonOne to find candidates, but after nearly eight months, the client filled the role through a competitor. Two months later, I received a call from the client letting me know the candidate didn’t work out. At that point it became my mission to fill the role. My persistence eventually paid off and I presented my client with the perfect candidate, who has been with the company ever since. I’ve actually placed a few other people with this client, solidifying my relationship even further.

Who do you most admire?
My dad. In addition to being a wonderful person, he was also my mentor. He was in sales and managed large teams his entire life. He inspired me to pursue my degree in marketing and was my go-to person for advice about difficult clients. Today I still use the lessons I learned from him about how to effectively manage and motivate a team.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Everyone who knows me knows how much I enjoy spending time with my dog, Barko. I talk about him all of the time. And being born in Dallas, it goes without saying that I’m a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.

Can you tell us something no one knows about you?
I’m deathly afraid of crickets.
